On the Arizona Coyotes …
Craig Morgan of Arizona Sports: John Gambadoro of 98.7 FM Arizona Sports is reporting that the Coyotes have signed goaltender Antti Raanta to a three-year contract extension worth about $4 million.
Raanta entered last night with a 2.24 GAA, and .930 save percentage in 46 games this season.

There is the Ottawa Senators and Erik Karlsson situation. GM Pierre Dorion looked at trading him at the deadline and could do so again. Karlsson doesn’t have a lot of leverage other than telling the Senators that he doesn’t plan on signing an extension with them. The Vegas Golden Knights would be among the number of teams interested.
John Tavares once again said that he hopes things work out with the Islanders. thinks it’s curious that there hasn’t really been any back and forth between agent Pat Brisson and the Islanders. Many think it’s unlikely that he’ll be back with the Islanders next year.
“But here’s what’s going to happen for the foreseeable future: John Tavares is going to leave the club at the end of the regular season. He is going to have to digest the mammoth disappointment of another heartbreaking year for the Islanders. At some point in the near future, likely toward the end of this month, then he’ll re-engage with Pat Brisson and they’ll map out a plan as early as May.”
There haven’t really been any talks internally with the Dallas Stars regarding a contract extension for forward Tyler Seguin, but that’s not to stay that it’s not going to happen as there is still lots of time.
“Now again, just doing a little bit of market research based on the impact of Tyler Seguin and what he’s accomplished in his young NHL career, the low end of a contract extension is going to be along the lines of Jack Eichel of the Buffalo Sabres at $10 million. And then we know what the high end is, and that’s Connor McDavid at 12.5.
“So he is going to command a mega-deal, either with the Dallas Stars, or at the end of his contract as a pending unrestricted free agent.”
