Jay Zawaski: Source saying that at this point it’s unlikely that the Blackhawks will trade their No. 8 draft pick. They have talked about the idea of trading their No. 27 pick for immediate help.
Jay Zawaski: Don’t assume that if they move their No. 27 pick that it would be for a defenseman. The Blackhawks could also be looking to upgrade down the middle.
On the Los Angeles Kings …
John Hoven: GM Rod Blake confirms previous reports that a final decision on whether to qualify Tobias Rieder or not will come down to the wire. Blake needs to see if any trade happen at the draft. A qualifying offer would be at $2.4 million.
John Cooper: Blake said that free agent John Tavares is something you have to look at, but it is still too early to talk about him.

There are plenty of teams that think Erik Karlsson could be the next out of Ottawa, even with GM Pierre Dorion saying he would offer him an eight-year deal on July 1st.
Karlsson has a 10-team no-trade list.
The Vegas Golden Knight could be the top candidate to land Karlsson as they have the pieces and the cap space, as well the potential to take on Bobby Ryan‘s contract.
The Senators asking price is believed to be Shea Theodore, draft picks and prospects. Prospect Cody Glass came up in trade talks at the deadline.
