On the Boston Bruins and Edmonton Oilers …

The Bruins have shown interest in Oilers pending free agent winger Patrick Maroon according to multiple sources.
The Oilers VP of hockey ops Craig MacTavish scouted the Bruins-Sabres game. Bruins director of player personnel John Ferguson has scouted the past couple Oilers games.
The Oilers could be looking for young forwards and/or draft picks in a Maroon trade.
It likely wouldn’t cost the Bruins any of their top young forwards or a first-round pick for Maroon.
Other wingers the Bruins could consider include Rick Nash, Michael Grabner, and Evander Kane.
On the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers …
Jimmy Murphy of CLNS: The Bruins showed some interest in Michael Grabner when he was a free agent after the 2016 season.
Multiple sources have sources have said the Bruins are once again interested in Grabner.
Bruins GM Don Sweeney has told teams that Charlie McAvoy, Jake DeBrusk and Danton Heinen are untouchables according to a source. The source did not name Brandon Carlo as an untouchable.
The New York Rangers will be selling at the deadline, with Rick Nash, Mats Zuccarello and Ryan McDonagh possibly available.
McDonagh could interest the Bruins, but the Rangers would likely want some of the Bruins untouchables.
The Bruins and Zdeno Chara have already discussed a contract extension.
