Are more changes coming to the Buffalo Sabres?
** Sabres GM Kevyn Adams was fired on Monday, and Jarmo Kekalainen was named the new GM
David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period: Brendan Shanahan is looking to get back in the NHL. If they’re looking for a President of Hockey Operations, could they look at Shanahan.
The Sabres are also looking at the trade market for some help at forward. Things are status quo with regards to any contract extension with forward Alex Tuch. An extension is not close.

The Edmonton Oilers have to constantly be looking for upgrades
NHL Network: Elliotte Friedman on NHL Now on the Edmonton Oilers not being done.
Mike Rupp: “Feels like it’s all your eggs in one basket, right here. But to your point that you just said you think there’s more to be done, at the goaltending position, or at least kicking the tires on that in the next two months.”
Friedman: “Well, I think what this is a reminder of, Michael, is that the Edmonton Oilers have a window, especially as long as they have (Connor) McDavid and (Leon) Draisaitl, right? And McDavid gave them a bit of a shot across the bow earlier this year when he extended for two years.
I think there was a time the Oilers hoped it would be longer than that. And so what McDavid did, at least was say, ‘hey, like, I’m here, and I want to win here, and I want to win with this group of players, but there’s only right now a finite window.’
So I think if you’re the Edmonton Oilers guys, you’re saying that we constantly have to be looking to upgrade. We constantly have to be looking at what are our weaknesses, and how can we make ourselves better?

And so I think that this is, I think the idea that Edmonton is ever in sort of a stasis where they say, ‘this is our team and we go with it.’ I don’t think you can ever assume that until we’re after a trade deadline.
