Flames scouting Blues-Oilers

Flyers didn’t contact Quenneville
Frank Seravalli: Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher said that he didn’t ask the Chicago Blackhawks for permission to speak with Joel Quenneville, and added that he hasn’t spoken with Quenneville in two years.
Carter doesn’t want to leave LA
Lisa Dillman of The Athletic: 33-year old Jeff Carter has his name back in the rumor mill.
Carter carries a $5.272 million salary cap hit for another three seasons but has a combined salary of $7 million. He’s been traded a couple times before and is not looking to leave LA.
“When you’re not winning, that’s the nature of the beast,” Carter said. “We’ll see what happens. Obviously, I don’t want to go anywhere.
If Carter is moved and he isn’t happy about where he ends up, he could also walk away from the game.
A team like the Hurricanes could use someone like Tarasenko
Chris Nichols of Nichols on Hockey: Elliotte Friedman was on Sportsnet 960 and was asked about the idea of the St. Louis Blues moving winger Vladimir Tarasenko.
Friedman notes that Tarasenko is on a good contract – $7.5 million per for four more years.
Nick Kypreos said over the weekend that Tarasenko is “not part of the problem, not part of the solution.”
Friedman talked to a former Blues player who said that he’s a great player but not a leader, and that there are some Blues players who use Tarasenko to try to deflect their own issues.
“So what are you getting? You’re getting a guy who can score, but a guy who is a bit flawed. And a team like Carolina, which I think has waited, they’re dying for goals. I could see it.”
