Blackhawks make three players available for trade

Scott Powers of The Athletic: Source has said that the Chicago Blackhawks have made Marcus Kruger, Chris Kunitz and Andreas Martinsen available for trade.

Kruger may be the mostly likely of those three to be moved, but he does carry a modified no-trade clause – a list of seven teams he won’t accept a trade too.

Kunitz has a full no-movement clause.

Martinsen has already cleared waivers.

Maple Leafs don’t want to trade Kapanen or Sandin

Emily Sadler of Sportsnet: Nick Kypreos said that the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking for a right-handed defenseman, but he price is “at a premium.”

The cost to acquire a top four is expensive, “extremely expensive.”

Kypreos adds that it’s debatable if St. Louis Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo is still available.

The Maple Leafs don’t want trade Kasperi Kapanen or 2018 first-round pick defenseman Rasmus Sandin.

“I think if the Leafs could put a package together without upsetting their current roster, they would do that,” he said. “So what does that mean? We’ve mentioned their first-rounder available, perhaps 2017 they drafted Timothy Liljegren, he would be available.

“Could they package some of the prospects on the Marlies?” Kypreos continued, naming Jeremy Bracco as an example. “Their best defenceman that a lot of teams think is ready, is Calle Rosen.”

Elliotte Friedman adds that a couple of teams have called the Maple Leafs and asked about Kapanen and were told “no sale.”

With the asking prices for right-handed defensemen being too high or options are not to their liking, they could look at left-handed Jake Muzzin.

Kypreos then adds.

“Another name I keep hearing is Radko Gudas from the Philadelphia Flyers.”
