On the Vancouver Canucks …

TSN Radio Vancouver: Pierre LeBrun said that Travis Green seems like he’d be the obvious choice the Canucks head coaching position.

Ben Kuzma and Jason Botchford of the Vancouver Province: Six coaching candidates for the Canucks: Travis Green, Ken Hitchcock, Kevin Dineen, Marc Crawford, Lindy Ruff, and Gerard Gallant.

On the Vegas Golden Knights …

Steve Carp: Darryl Sutter might be the type of head coach Vegas is looking for. He’s an experienced coach that is tough-minded and is a Cup winner.

On the Winnipeg Jets …

Sara Orlesky: GM Kevin Cheveldayoff and head coach Paul Maurice haven’t gone over everything yet, but Cheveldayoff is not expecting to make any changes to their coaching staff.

Sara Orlesky: Cheveldayoff reiterates that coach Paul Maurice has his full support.

Scott Billeck: Cheveldayoff said that they are in the “very early” stages of a contract extension for Maurice.

Sean Reynolds: Maurice said that he’s fine with going into next season without a contract extension in place. He’s fine with whatever management wants to do.

On the Dallas Stars …

Sean Shapiro: GM Jim Nill and then head coach Lindy Ruff had contract talks during the season, but they decided to wait until after to see how things played out.

Andy Strickland: Ken Hitchcock is a strong candidate for the Stars.

Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: Stars GM Jim Nill when asked if he’s already started the process of finding a new head coach.

“I’ve already started the process. Been talking to some people already. Looking for an experienced guy, looking for a good coach. This isn’t a rebuild. I think we’ve got a lot of good pieces in place. It was a tough year. The tough part was he never really had his team this year. That’s probably the hardest part of this whole season. He didn’t get a chance to finish something that he started. We know we’re not that far away. It may not look like it this year. But when you have the injuries that we had, we went through 32 players, 20 forwards, I’ve never seen anything like that before. It was a tough year that way, but you’ve still got to find your way through it and we didn’t. We’re looking for an experienced coach. We’re going to get back at it and get back on the horse.”
