On Ottawa Senators …
Pierre LeBrun: Dion Phaneuf has a modified no-trade clause, a list of 12 teams he’d accept a trade to. Marc Methot has a modified no-trade as well with 10 teams he won’t accept a trade to.
Pierre LeBrun: Phaneuf’s list was submitted to the Senators before the season.
Bruce Garrioch: Phaneuf has until today to submit a new list of 12 teams to the Senators if he wants. If not, they use the previous list.
On the Nashville Predators …
Jim Matheson: Think that Predators GM David Poile has to work out a deal with Vegas GM George McPhee so that they don’t lose forward Calle Jarnkrok in the expansion draft.
Adam Vingan: GM Poile has spoken with Vegas GM McPhee and will speak to him again if there is a deal to make to protect some of their assets that may be exposed in the draft.
Brooks Bratten: Poile said they will start contract talks soon with restricted free agents Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson.
Brooks Bratten: Poile believes their recent success will make recruiting potential free agents easier.
Brooks Bratten: Poile said he hasn’t talked to Mike Fisher about his future with the Preds.
Robby Stanley of NHL.com: Predators forward Mike Fisher is a UFA and as of Tuesday has decided if he will play next season or retire.
“Honestly, right now, I haven’t really even gotten to that place as far as I want to separate myself from the game,” Fisher said. “The biggest factor is prayer, to be honest, and figuring out what is next, what God wants and trying to figure that out. That’s the biggest factor really.
“I love playing the game. I love being around the guys. That, to me, is more important than a Cup. This year was the best year I’ve had as far as fun and being around just a great group of guys, a city that came together. There’s so many positives. It’s pretty cool.”
