On the Detroit Red Wings …

Igor Eronko: Have been told that Detroit Red Wings RFA Andreas Athanasiou has a contract offer from the KHL, but it’s very unlikely that he would accept the offer.

On the Toronto Maple Leafs …

Igor Eronko: Igor Ozhiganov told @Boogaard_2 that Maple Leafs head coach Mike Babcock was “positive” when they talked.

Igor Eronko: Ozhiganov missed the first two games of the KHL season with CSKA, but he was scratched for injury issues.

On the Boston Bruins …

Jimmy Murphy: Hearing that the Bruins have increased their offer to David Pastrnak to six years and $42 million.

Kevin Paul Dupont of the Boston Globe: Training camp is a few weeks away, and winger David Pastrnak remains unsigned.

The Bruins have offered Pastrnak $6 million a season, leaving the length up to Pastrnak – six or seven years.

The Bruins won’t be trading Pastrnak as they did with Phil Kessel, Dougie Hamilton, and Tyler Seguin.

“We like him,” Sweeney said, emphatically. “We are not trading him.”

Pastrnak might be able to get the Bruins to come up a bit, maybe to $6.5 million over five to seven years, or if going on a one- or two-year deal maybe a little less at $5.5 million.

“There is plenty of time between now and then,” said Sweeney. “We will continue to talk. We will find a landing spot. There are deadlines that exist, but I believe it’s a disservice to the player and the team to miss training camp, to be late for training camp, and to start the season. I don’t think anyone recovers the money. I don’t think anybody recovers the lost service time — team or player. It’s been proven. The team gets off to a slow start. It’s just completely disruptive. So my feeling has been all along, we are going to negotiate in complete good faith.”
