Oilers winger Puljujarvi looking to get out of Edmonton
Tommi Seppala: Jesse Puljujarvi’s agent Markus Lehto: “It doesn’t make sense to go back where we were last season, it’s not good for either side. Discussions about parting ways have been going on for weeks already. Jesse needs a fresh start and it’s nothing against the Oilers”
Reid Wilkins: Holland to Bob Stauffer on the radio today on Puljujarvi: “I’m not trading anybody because they want to be traded. But if we can find something that works for everybody, I’ll look at it. If not, I’m not doing anything.”
Darren Dreger: Puljujarvi has made it clear that he would like a fresh start and to be traded. It’s believed that Oilers would be willing to move him, but they won’t give him away and needs to be the right fit.
Darren Dreger: Believe that Puljujarvi could be fine saying in Europe and playing in the KHL or Finnish league if he’s not moved.
Aivis Kalnins: There are KHL offers for Puljujarvi, but his camp is not interested despite the rumors that it may be an option.
Daniel Nugent-Bowman: Puljujarvi’s trade value is really low and GM Ken Holland shouldn’t make a trade just to make a trade. They need to get some value back if they are going to trade him.
Mark Spector: Puljujarvi’s value low. Half of Puljujarvi’s situation is his fault, but the Oilers mismanagement gets part of the blames as well. Asking for a trade is the easy way out.
Ryan Rishaug: The Oilers need to get someone back who can play now. Puljujarvi is still really young and he was the 4th overall pick. They need to be patient if they don’t get the return they need.
Jason Gregor: Ray Ferraro on TSN 1260 on Puljujarvi: “With the new coach and GM Edmonton is like a new team. The Oilers don’t have much depth. I think he’d be better off working on his game and listening to what the new coaching staff thinks. I think the trade request is premature.”
