On the Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks, Minnesota Wild, Columbus Blue Jackets, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Pittsburgh Penguins, Calgary Flames, Detroit Red Wings, Arizona Coyotes and Philadelphia Flyers …

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet: The Buffalo Sabres are willing to trade winger Evander Kane, so teams will be scouting him. The Sabres haven’t received an offer they deem fair. Teams aren’t offering much.

The Vancouver Canucks likely aren’t offering the Sabres much for Kane. Their interest in him is well known. Michael Russo of the Star-Tribune said that the Minnesota Wild are interested in Kane as well. Friedman is hearing the Wild are not interested in Kane, though could be looking to add a forward.

The Columbus Blue Jackets want to shed some salary. May need to keep an eye on Brandon Saad who was almost made a healthy scratch last week.

The New York Islanders haven’t been able to find any help up front as of yet. They may not want to trade any of their young prospects.

Friedman isn’t sure if the Islanders are serious about trading Jaroslav Halak, who has started six of their past seven games.

The Ottawa Senators have let teams know that they would trade Andrew Hammond.

One GM who could be looking for a goalie.

“I’m not doing anything until I know what Pittsburgh’s going to do with Marc-Andre Fleury.”

The Calgary Flames are looking to add some toughness to their blueline.

There are likely teams that think they can turn Dougie Hamilton around. The Flames would be selling low if they moved him now. After losing out on Cam Fowler and Jacob Trouba, Friedman wonders if the Detroit Red Wings would be interested.

The Arizona Coyotes have told teams they’ll trade Martin Hanzal if they receive a young player who can play in the NHL and is preferably a center. The San Jose Sharks and St. Louis Blues could be fits for Hanzal.

The Philadelphia Flyers haven’t had any contract talks with their pending UFA goalies – Steve Mason and Michal Neuvirth.
