George Richards of the Miami Herald: Pending UFA forward Jaromir Jagr when asked about his future yesterday.
“We’ll wait and see,” said Jagr, 45, who played in all 82 games this season and only missed three last year. “What happens, happens. Of course there will be some kind of changes, that’s what the owners want. It’s already started; there were changes .”
GM Dale Tallon said on Monday that he plans on sitting down with Jagr to talk about a potential return.
“We talked a little bit,” Jagr said. “I don’t want to go into any details. We’ll let you know if something happens.”

“We haven’t talked,” Tallon said of Jagr. ” talked casually with his agent about a month ago. As we have in the past, we’ll sit down moving forward in the next few weeks and see what his desires are and where we think it fits or not. We’ll have a good positive discussion … and then we’ll see where that leads us.”
Pending UFA Thomas Vanek said that the Panthers would be high on his list of teams he’d consider signing with for next season. After being acquired from the Red Wings, Vanek had two goals and eight assists in 20 games with the Panthers.
Chris Nichols of FanRag Sports: Panthers GM Dale Tallon on SiriusXM NHL Network on Monday talking about the team and their management structure. He admitted they tried somethings last year and it didn’t work out. Tallon on what he’ll look to address next.
“Right now I think we’re going to see who we can get as a coach and what style he wants to incorporate,” said Tallon. “I like run and gun a little bit. I like puck possession, offensive-type team. I like our D to get up in the play and be involved offensively, and just utilizing the skills and tools that we have already. And then maybe I’d like to get a little quicker, and get a little more grit on the back end.
“Those are the two main things I’d like to address.”
Tallon said they will take their time on finding their next coach, likely after the playoffs. They’d like to hire someone no later than mid-June.
