On the Philadelphia Flyers …
Tim Panaccio: The Flyers are in on college free agent Spencer Foo.
On Jaromir Jagr and the Los Angeles Kings …
Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun: Hearing that it may not be easy for Jaromir Jagr to get a contract for next year.
Talk is that GM Dean Lombardi could be pushed out this offseason with Rob Blake likely to replace him. Coach Darryl Sutter could be done as well, with associate coach John Stevens signed to be the next coach. Could be Blake’s decision to make on Stevens.
On the Montreal Canadiens …
Eric Engels of Sportsnet: Alexander Radulov on if the early reports of him wanting an eight-year contract extension from the Montreal Canadiens was true.
“That was bulls—,” he said.
“I’m not going to lie to you. I would be happy to have a contract for eight years, but it’s not realistic and it’s not what I’m asking for. I wasn’t even asking for anything, because I’m trying to play the whole season and see what happens.”
Radulov said there had been some contract talks, but they have since been put on hold. They never got to the point where the Canadiens made a formal offer to him.
Radulov on if he see’s himself staying with the Canadiens
“I would love to stay here. I like it here. I love the fans. I love this facility. I come here even at night time; it’s all open doors. I can come and do whatever I need to. I really enjoy it, it’s really nice. You got everything here just to make yourself better.
The city and the people here—I really enjoy it. The people are nice, they’re not mean to me. Even when we lose some games, or when I wasn’t scoring for nine games before, people weren’t hard on me because they see how hard I’m working and trying.”
