The Fourth Period: The Bruins have been interested in Landeskog since last season. Earlier, when Brandon Carlo‘s name came up, the Bruins stopped trade talks. Recent speculation has GM Sweeney possibly easing up on his stance of not including Carlo.
On the Anaheim Ducks …
Eric Stephens of the OC Register: The Ducks have several defensemen that will interest teams, and GM Bob Murray could be busy.
“The phone has started to ring, not specifically about the young defensemen but more about teams preparing for the deadline,” said Murray, who recently returned from Europe on a scouting trip.
Teams like the Buffalo Sabres and Detroit Red Wings have been interested in Cam Fowler for awhile. Fowler has been really good this year and would be a big part of the Ducks playoff push.
The Ducks have Hampus Lindholm locked into a six-year deal. Sami Vatanen is on a four-year deal. Josh Manson is under contract through next year. Shea Theodore and Brandon Montour are trying to show they belong in the NHL. The Ducks also have prospect Jacob Larsson playing in Sweden.
The Ducks are 19th in scoring and could use some help upfront.
Matt Duchene and Gabriel Landeskog could be available. If the Ducks were to add someone like Landeskog, they would have to move out a salary or two. Could the Ducks find someone to take Clayton Stoner and a prospect or pick? Murray:
“Any young player deal would be a hockey deal,” Murray said, “not a rental.”
