- Andy Strickland: Paul Stastny and the Avalanche will talk this morning before the start of free agency.
- Andy Strickland: Will be interesting to see of the Blackhawks make a formal offer to Stastny. Stastny is one of Joel Quenneville’s favorite players.
- John Vogl: Six teams have shown serious interest in Matt Moulson. The Sabres are one of the six teams.
- Adrian Dater: A Jarome Iginla signing with the Avalanche would make little sense after the trade for Daniel Briere.
- Tom Gulitti: Devils GM Lou Lamoriello said they made a good offer to Mark Fayne and would like to have him back but realizes they “might not be able to compete with the numbers that are out there.”
- Adam Vingan: Capitals priorities are defense and a goaltender. Mikhail Grabovski and Capitals seems far apart on money. Vingan thinking he’s gone.
- Wes Gilbertson: Before the Flames hired Brad Treliving as GM, Brian Burke mentioned that the Flames could take on bad contracts to add assets. Treliving obviously is on board with that idea. (two trades they tried to make at the draft mentioned here)
- Hope Smoke: Nick Kypreos: “I imagine the Leafs will be aggressive tomorrow. They’ll sign a few guys with grit & leadership qualities. A Steve Ott type”
