On the Vancouver Canucks …
Matthew Sekeres: From what has gathered, forward Jannik Hansen was to provide the Canucks a list of eight teams that he’d accept a trade too on Wednesday night.
TSN Radio Vancouver: Pierre LeBrun said on TSN 1040 that the Canucks want a young player or top prospect for Hansen. They are getting lost of interest, including the Minnesota Wild.
On the Los Angeles Kings …
The Fourth Period: The Los Angeles Kings are considering their trade options. They’ve been linked to Patrick Eaves, Thomas Vanek, Brendan Smith, Gabriel Landeskog, Jarome Iginla and others.
The Kings have been scouting the Maple Leafs lately, with the GM Dean Lombardi and VP of hockey operations Mike Futa taking in Tuesday’s game.
The New York Rangers have heavily scouted the Kings and their AHL affiliate.
Sources saying the Kings could be willing to trade forward Dwight King and defenseman Alec Martinez. Paul LaDue and Adrian Kempe are receiving interest.
On the Calgary Flames …
Wes Gilbertson of the Calgary Herald: If the Flames are able to find a trade partner for defenseman Dennis Wideman, he won’t stand in their way. He has a no-movement clause, but appears okay with the idea of waiving it.
“If that’s something that (the Flames) want to do, then they can call and I definitely would be open to it,” Wideman said. “I think, as a player, you don’t want to be anywhere that you’re not wanted. So if they want to move you and someone wants to take you, then it’s nice to go somewhere like that if that’s the case.
“And if I don’t hear anything, then I guess I’m here.”
Wideman said that he hasn’t heard from the Flames regarding his no-movement clause.
Wideman carries a $5.25 million cap hit, but $6 million in salary, and is a pending free agent.
“Anytime you’re at this point of the year and you’re not playing and you’re a UFA, you know your name is going to be out there,” Wideman said. “At least, you hope it is, that’s for sure. If it’s not out there, then that’s a bad sign.”
