No playoffs for Jeff Skinner
Frank Seravalli: Free agent for Jeff Skinner didn’t sign a contract for the rest of the season by yesterday’s deadline and is now ineligible for the players. He and the San Jose Sharks mutually terminated his contract back on February 16th.
San Jose Sharks GM on Artemi Panarin, no to rentals but tried players with term
Sheng Peng: San Jose Sharks GM Mike Grier said that they had kicked tires on then New York Ranger, Artemi Panarin, but they didn’t get to far in talks.
Grier: “This was a place I think he would have been willing to come to.”

Max Miller of SharksHockeyDigest: Sharks GM Grier said they took calls on defensemen Mario Ferraro and John Klingberg, and received some offers, but they weren’t close to what they were looking for.
“We were in on a few things throughout the week. But I wasn’t really in the rental market. We were more poking around and involved in things players that had some term,” Grier said. “We weren’t able to get some of the guys that we were interested in and made some offers on. That’s often the case this time of year. Prices are high.
Like I’ve always said, it’s an eye on the future, as well as balancing that out between the future and the here and now. I’ve got to decide how far you’re willing to go, and what type of assets you’re willing to give up.”
Grier wouldn’t confirm whether or not they were willing to use the Edmonton Oilers 2026 first-round pick in any of their talks.

No formal offers for Teddy Blueger or Evander Kane
Thomas Drance: Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin said that they didn’t get any formal trade offers for forwards Teddy Blueger or Evander Kane.
Satiar Shah: The Canucks might have been able to get a similar return for Blueger like they did for David Kampf (6th round pick), but decided to hold on to him.
