Faulk on the move?
Chip Alexander: Carolina Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour said that Justin Faulk is healthy but was told to keep him off the ice today.
Cory Lavalette: There is no trade yet, but a Faulk trade is likely imminent. It is quiet on where he could be going.
Puljujarvi being scouted
Aivis Kalnins: Jesse Puljujarvi is being heavily scouted so far this season. There should be trade interest, but it’s not known who has made any serious offers.
Remaining big named RFAs may not be close
TSN: Bob McKenzie: Mikko Rantanen, Matthew Tkachuk, Patrik Laine and Kyle Connor will say Brayden Point‘s deal was too team friendly.
Don’t sense that Rantanen, Laine or Tkachuk are close. Some think the Connor and the Winnipeg Jets could be close, but his agent says that isn’t the case. Connor could be open for a four-year deal similar to Timo Meier – a $6 million cap hit with a $10 salary in year four.
Teams checking in with Laine’s camp
TSN: Pierre LeBrun: Sense is Patrik Laine will sign a bridge deal. There have been some teams checking in with Laine’s agent Mike Liut this week. An offer sheet or to see what they are thinking contract wise if they were to make a trade offer to the Jets?
Devils and Hall’s camp meet over the weekend
TSN: Darren Dreger: New Jersey Devils GM Ray Shero and Taylor Hall‘s agent Darren Ferris met over the weekend. It sounds like the sides made some traction on a potential extension.
“He likes what Shero has done in the changes that he’s made to the lineup of the New Jersey Devils. So it’s one of those situations. It could happen sooner than later which is saying a lot considering that he’s in the final year of his contract.”
