Are Kevyn Adams‘ days as the Buffalo Sabres GM numbered?
Matthew Fairburn and Tim Graham of The Athletic: Three sources have said that there have been internal conversations about the Buffalo Sabres firing GM Kevyn Adams. The Sabres are in Seattle and will return to Buffalo on Monday.
Two sources said that the final decision won’t be made until they are home from the road trip. A team spokesperson wouldn’t comment, and Adams didn’t respond to a text message.
Adams has been the Sabres GM for the past five and a half seasons and has a year left on his contract. The Sabres haven’t been to the playoffs in the past 14 seasons and are sitting last in the Eastern Conference.
NHL Injuries: Sunday, December 14th
Jarmo Kekalainen joined the Sabres last May as a senior advisor and is the logical person to take over full-time or as an interim GM. Kekalainen is currently back in Finland dealing with a personal matter.
Whoever steps in will have to make a decision before the trade deadline on pending UFA Alex Tuch. Pending RFA to deal with in the offseason are Josh Doan, Zach Benson and Michael Kesselring.

I don’t have anything solid here, but I wanted to address it in the sense that there’s a lot of noise. They finish their road trip on Sunday night, tomorrow night in Seattle, and we’ll see what happens when Buffalo gets back. Well, there’s a lot of noise there, but we’ll see if there’s anything concrete.”
