Should the Canucks test the trade market for Hutton?
Harman Dayal of The Athletic: Defenseman Ben Hutton has struggled in a top-four role for the Vancouver Canucks and may be better suited for a bottom pairing. Nyquist not stressing about his next contract
Kevin Kurz of The Athletic: San Jose Sharks coach Pete DeBoer doesn’t think Gustav Nyquist has had any issues integrating himself into his new team since being acquired at that trade deadline.
Nyquist has 129 goals, 303 points in 495 career games. He’s entering the final season of his four-year, $19 million contract. There won’t be a shortage of teams interested in him if he hits the open market.
Nyquist is just trying to focus on hockey when asked about his future.
“I love this place. It’s been a great place so far. Everyone’s been great. Management and all that, they’ve really taken care of me. Great group of guys.
“I’m not too stressed about it. It will work out. But right now, I’m just focusing on helping the team out as much as I can.”
