On the Los Angeles Kings …

Dennis Bernstein: (before Bishop trade) Patrick Sharp could be an option for the Kings. Don’t eliminate the possibility of Johnny Oduya.

John Hoven: Sharp carries a $5.9 million cap hit and the Kings have $3.3 million in cap space now. If the Kings put Matt Greene on the LTIR, trade Andy Andreoff, and the Stars retain some salary, a Sharp trade could work.

Dennis Bernstein: The Kings won’t pay a big price, but they need another top-six forward.

Frank Seravalli: GM Dean Lombardi on trading for a forward now:  “I don’t see it. Things can change. I just don’t see the answer (out there). We’ve got to bear down.”

Dennis Bernstein: “Anyone saying Kings don’t have a path to another deal is not accurate. Takes some work but I don’t think they’re closed for business.”

Helene Elliott: “Wondering if there’s more coming from the Kings after they got Bishop. They need goals, not goalies. Curious to hear Lombardi’s reasoning”

Jon Rosen: From understanding, the Kings were never involved in Martin Hanzal trade talks. They may have inquired at one point, but the prices were too high.

Dennis Bernstein: (answering question) From what knows, the Kings would have to have a 180 degree change on Evander Kane to acquire him.

On the Minnesota Wild …

Eric Engels: From what has been told, don’t rule out the possibility of the Wild acquiring Evander Kane.

Eric Engels: The Wild had considered Kane earlier, but received a text (after above tweet was made) from an executive who said “not going to happen.”

Eric Engels: The Wild still have some options out there and the feeling is they’re not done.

Dane Mizutani: GM Chuck Fletcher said they were not going to give up any of their top prospects in any trade.

Craig Morgan: Source saying there have been no discussions about Hanzal signing a contract extension before he become a free agent on July 1st.
