On the Boston Bruins …

Boston Bruins: Don Sweeney: “If we have the assets to acquire certain players that will give us a boost, that’s what we’ll try to do.”

Zack Cox: Sweeney said that he hasn’t asked any player to waive their no-trade/no-movement clause.

Steve Conroy: Sweeney said that he’d consider keeping Loui Eriksson past the deadline without a contract extension.

Joe Haggerty: Sweeney said that they have made significant contract offers to Eriksson, but admitted that “there’s a gap there.”

DJ Been: Sweeney didn’t say whether he an offer for Eriksson that includes a first round pick.

On the Edmonton Oilers …

Told Yakupov would welcome change of scenery. Montreal and Winnipeg among teams in mix for him. https://t.co/BoXZwKydYf

Could see the Oilers wanting to move Mark Fayne if they can find a fit, term and money left so may be tough, but they can retain $ if needed

— Ryan Rishaug (@TSNRyanRishaug) February 29, 2016

On the Buffalo Sabres …

One would suspect,Sabres aren’t going to be that busy today.Their goal today is to TRY and move some veteran players and $ out. #NHLTrade

On the Philadelphia Flyers …

The most likely Flyer to be moved today is Mark Streit

— Tim Panaccio (@tpanotchCSN) February 29, 2016

On the New York Islanders …

Isles are looking, but not interested in trading high picks or prospects for rentals. Parenteau seems more of a long-shot at this stage.

— Darren Dreger (@DarrenDreger) February 29, 2016

On the Ottawa Senators ….

Sens don’t have Wiercioch in their future. Wouldn’t qualify him at 2.7 million. Owe 700k US for rest of the year. Might as well get a pick.

— Shawn Simpson (@TSNSimmer) February 29, 2016

On the Minnesota Wild …

The Minnesota Wild are NOT currently in on Jonathan Drouin. #NHLTrade @Sportsnet

— Eric Engels (@EricEngels) February 29, 2016

On the Nashville Predators …

GM David Poile on deadline day: “If we don’t do anything, I think this team is good enough to have success.” https://t.co/Ozb22BnDuQ
