TSN Insider Trading: Darren Dreger: Avs GM Joe Sakic continue to mull over trade offers for forward Matt Duchene that he has on the table. The Columbus Blue Jackets and Nashville Predators are the more persistent teams. Sakic wants a top-four defenseman in any deal and isn’t happy so far with what the Blue Jackets and Predators are offering or a deal would have been made by now. The deals may not get any better as the offseason goes on.
Pierre LeBrun: The Montreal Canadiens aren’t any closer to a deal with Alexander Radulov. There has been no progress in the past 24 hours between the two sides. The Dallas Stars have some interest in Radulov. If he’s looking for six to seven years, it won’t be happening with the Canadiens.
Darren Dreger: At this moment the Winnipeg Jets are out on Karl Alzner but that can always change. It’s believed he’s looking for six years and as much as $5 million a season. There are a number of teams that are still interested. There are some trade scenarios that muddy the water around Alzner.
Bob McKenzie: There are believed to be at least four teams in on Kevin Shattenkirk, who is mulling over offers. The New Jersey Devils and Tampa Bay Lightning may be two of the more interested teams. The Arizona Coyotes and Colorado Avalanche could be lurking in the weeds to see what is happening. Big question is where is he going to get the big term and AAV. He might get more term but a lower number from the Devils or less term and a higher number from the Lightning.
Darren Dreger: Justin Williams is down to three or four teams. Williams was high on the Dallas Stars list. The Nashville Predators poked around are still in the mix. Word is Williams would like to stay in the East – so the Lightning, Philadelphia Flyers and New York Islanders.
Pierre LeBrun: It’s an interesting, fluid situation with the Florida Panthers and Jaromir Jagr. The Panthers and Jagr’s camp spoke this morning, and then later in the day. It could go either way. If he’s back with the Panthers, it will be for less money than he’s made in the past couple years. The Panthers have a lot of things up in the air at the moment. They are still trying to trade Jason Demers and address other needs. The lines of communication remain open, but it’s certainly a fluid situation.
