Adam Vingan: Nashville Predators GM David Poile after acquiring Boyle and McLeod: “We’ll continue to make phone calls, listen, pay attention and see if we can improve our team. But right now, I’m pretty happy with where we are, and if this is (what) we ended up with, I’m good with entering into the playoffs with this roster.”
Adam Vingan: Poile adds they are still going to be looking to improve their roster: “If we can improve our club, we’re going to do that. … If we can improve our team in the next three weeks, we will certainly do that.”
Adam Vingan: Poile said that when talking with other GMs the common asking price seemed to always be a first-round draft and a prospect. Poile adds “If we get into a bigger deal, I guess we might have to do that. And we’re willing to do that.”
The Pittsburgh Penguins are done … for now
Rob Rossi: Pittsburgh Penguins GM Jim Rutherford said that he believes they are finished making trades but he’s wanting to see how they play after their recent acquisitions and with getting Evgeni Malkin and Justin Schultz back from injury.
If the Los Angeles Kings trade Jonathan Quick it would more likely to be at the draft
TSN: Darren Dreger says that things have cooled down a bit with regards to the Los Angeles Kings, but things can always change quickly.
Teams are still calling the Kings to see who is available, including goaltender Jonathan Quick.
“…but he has four more years remaining on his contract at $5.8 million per season and the sense that I get from my sources is that if Quick gets traded, it’s more likely that it’ll happen at the draft than at the trade deadline.”
