On the Anaheim Ducks …
Eric Stephens of the OC Register: The Ducks and Rickard Rakell‘s camp continue to talk contract for the RFA forward.
“We are talking and I think we will find common ground for a solid agreement as I feel both parties seem to want that to happen very much,” Peter Wallen, Rakell’s agent, told the Register on Thursday.
He could get a multiyear contract at around $4 million a season. Earlier this offseaon Ducks GM Bob Murray was concerned about a long-term deal, but they may be able to get him at a lower price and it would buy up arbitration years.
Signing Rakell to a bridge deal is also an option. This runs of the risk of having a friendly deal for two years, but paying more on his next contract if he develops into a better player.
The Ducks also have to re-sign Hampus Lindholm. Comparables will have him making over $5 million a season on his next deal.
