No buyout decisions yet

Sam Carchidi: Philadelphia Flyers GM Chuck Fletcher said that they haven’t made any decisions about potential buyout yet. thinks that Andrew MacDonald is a strong candidate.

Hayes to visit Philly

Dave Isaac: Fletcher said that contract talks with Kevin Hayes have generally been positive but they are not close to a deal.

The plan is to have Hayes come to Philadelphia to see their facilities and have an in-person meeting.

The Flyers need to know by the draft if he’s going to sign, if not they need to find another option.

Sam Carchidi: Fletcher said that they still have high hopes for center Nolan Patrick, who should slot in as their No. 3 center next year when all said and done. “He’s a mature player in terms of his 200-foot game for a kid that’s just 20 years old.”

Not a lot of action on the Flyers No. 11 pick yet, but that could change

Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer: Fletcher on their No. 11 pick in the draft: “we’re going to get a really good player,” he said. “But it is a pretty good chip, and in certain scenarios, I would not hesitate to move it if it could really help our team.”

One potential trade target that could involve their first round pick is for Winnipeg Jets defenseman Jacob Trouba, who would be a perfect fit beside Ivan Provorov.

Philadelphia Flyers: Fletcher when asked about the possibility of trading their No. 11 pick: “It’s early. I’ve mentioned to teams that we’re in play but there hasn’t been a big push for the pick yet. If we keep it & stay at 11, we’re going to get a good player…It’s certainly a good chip that if moved, it could help.”

Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer: If he’s available at No. 11, one player the Flyers will consider is forward Matthew Boldy.

Flyers assistant GM Brent Flahr:

“He’s a skilled kid, and he’s going to get a lot stronger and his skating is going to come,” Flahr said. “But he’s got very good hands and he can really shoot the puck. He’s got a really good game that everybody is searching for.”
