On the Philadelphia Flyers …
Sam Carchidi of the Philadelphia Inquirer: Philadelphia Flyers GM Ron Hextall on if they will be buyers or sellers at the trade deadline.
“We’re not buying,” he said.
Hextall will see where they sit after their games on Saturday and Tuesday.
They have five free agents who are believed to be available for draft picks or prospects – defenseman Mark Streit, Michael Del Zotto, and Nick Schultz and goaltenders Steve Mason and Michal Neuvirth.
“We’ll be making calls and getting calls, and we’ll see what’s out there and see where we’re at as a team in the standings and make the appropriate moves,” Hextall said.
The Flyers entered last night five points out the playoffs.
