On scouting the Los Angeles Kings and Philadelphia Flyers …
Adam Kimelman: Teams listed to scout last night’s Kings-Flyers game: Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, Florida Panthers, Vegas Golden Knights, Nashville Predators and Detroit Red Wings.
On the Edmonton Oilers …
Darren Dreger: The rumor that Wayne Gretzky is buying into the Edmonton Oilers ownership group is not true.
On the Ottawa Senators …
Darren Dreger: “True to form, Sens GM, Pierre Dorion continues to stir things up on trade front prior to holiday roster freeze. Interest. Nothing imminent.”
Chris Nichols of FanRag Sports: Pierre LeBrun on TSN 1260 talking about the Ottawa Senators.
“I mean listen, the Senators have gotten calls on so many guys. It’s hard to narrow in on one guy. Obviously Hoffman would be of interest because he’s a goal scorer. He’s a good hockey player. When Pierre Dorion tells teams that he’s listening, of course if you’re another team you’re going to ask on him, you’re going to ask on a lot of different players. Pageau would be a guy that would fit in other teams’ plans in terms of teams looking for a checking center, some teams looking at Cody Ceci.
“Whether or not Pierre Dorion decides to pull the trigger on any of this remains to be seen. I think it’s funny. Part of the exercise of coming out and telling everyone publicly you’re talking to every team in the league can also have a hidden agenda, which is to get your own players to hear that. And the Senators have since won two straight and looked absolutely dominant in beating Montreal Saturday in the outdoor game.”
LeBrun believes the Sens will make a move at some point.
Darren Dreger on WGR 550 on Friday on the Senators.
“I think that Pierre Dorion though is looking for a core move away from Karlsson,” indicated Darren Dreger on Buffalo’s WGR 550. “So maybe a Mike Hoffman or a Zack Smith or maybe Pageau; or if you look at one of their defensemen, a longshot might be Cody Ceci, something like that.”
