Isabelle Khurshudyan: GM Brian MacLellan said that he isn’t sure if Kevin Shattenkirk is just a pure rental. MacLellan seems open to the idea of possibly re-signing him, but he did add that that the Capitals have other free agents.
Isabelle Khurshudyan: The Blues retained 39 percent of Shattenkirk’s salary. MacLellan: “They pushed us to the limit with the salary with-holding.” The Capitals could be finished trading due to lack of cap space.
