TSN Insider Trading: Pierre LeBrun: Maple Leafs forward Nikita Soshnikov has a clause in his contract saying that if he’s not on an NHL roster by November 14th, he has the option to return to the KHL. The Leafs are very likely to recall him. Soshnikov is also three games away from being waiver eligible. Teams are looking at the Leafs saying that something has to give. They have a lot of depth up front but could use some help on the blue line.
Darren Dreger: Interest in Sabres winger Evander Kane is picking up. There is a possibility that they sign him to an extension, but belief around the league is that he’ll get traded before the deadline.
Bob McKenzie: The Flames don’t want to trade Sam Bennett. Bennett is pointless this season, but teams are still calling the Flames. The Flames are listening, but there is a big gap in his perceived value.
Darren Dreger: The Senators are still among the teams looking to acquire a forward. They recalled Nick Paul, but it’s possible they use him as trade bait down the road.
Pierre LeBrun: The Ducks are looking for a top-six forward dating back to the offseason, but there’s a little more urgency now. They were keeping tabs on the Matt Duchene situation. They may be looking for a left winger or a left-handed center.
