Canucks out of the running on a defenseman

Rick Dhaliwal: The Canucks were interested in defenseman Patrik Nemeth but are no longer in the mix.

Perry getting a lot of interest

Frank Seravalli: 10 teams are showing interest in Corey Perry and there are some intriguing options for him.

He is shrinking his list down to three or four teams today.

There were a couple of teams the joined the race today an finding out they were out on other free agents.

  • Kevin Kurz: The San Jose Sharks need another winger even if Patrick Marleau returns. Could they possibly sign Perry?
Could be a quiet free agent day now for the Coyotes

Craig Morgan: Getting the sense that it will now be a quiet free agent period for the Arizona Coyotes are acquiring Phil Kessel and Carl Soderberg.

They may only have one roster spot open assuming they re-sign RFA Lawson Crouse and Barrett Hayton makes their opening day roster.

The last spot could go to a forward on a two-way contract.

Craig Morgan: Maybe Nick Merkley gets a shot or they bring in someone later this offseason.

GM John Chayka will keep looking/making calls but their roster may be set.
