On Michael Grabner …
Frank Seravalli of TSN: Looking at three teams that could be interested in New York Rangers winger Michael Grabner.
Calgary Flames – The Flames need some scoring depth, upgrading their bottom-six with some speed.
Colorado Avalanche – The Avs are a bubble team at the moment and will see where they sit at the deadline. If they look to add at the deadline, Grabner could be a fit with their playmakers.
Pittsburgh Penguins – Coach Mike Sullivan has said they are not fast enough. Grabner could be a “low-cost, high-value trade piece” for the Penguins.
On Evander Kane …
Frank Seravalli of TSN: Looking at three teams that could be interested in Buffalo Sabres winger Evander Kane.
Pittsburgh Penguins – The Penguins may be looking to add a scoring winger and a third line center. They’ve been linked to Kane already. Sabres GM Jason Botterill is Jim Rutherford‘s former assistant.
San Jose Sharks – The Sharks are believed to be interested in Kane. They don’t have their second or third round picks though. It may make more sense for the Sharks if it were long-term. The Sharks might be interested in John Tavares this offseason if he becomes available.
Vancouver Canucks – Have long been rumored to be interested in Kane. May make more sense for the Canucks to go after Kane in free agency. Will have plenty of cap space to do so.
On Thomas Vanek …
Frank Seravalli of TSN: Looking at three teams that could be interested in Vancouver Canucks winger Thomas Vanek.
Anaheim Ducks – Ducks GM Bob Murray is looking for a second or third line scoring winger.
Columbus Blue Jackets – The Blue Jackets have been .500 since December 1st and rank 25th in goals. Vanek would bring scoring and some playoff experience.
San Jose Sharks – Maybe harder for the Sharks to acquire since they don’t have a second or third round pick this year. Would look good beside Joe Pavelski.
