Frolik still knows he could be moved

Eric Francis of Sportsnet: Calgary Flames forward Michael Frolik realizes that the Flames may need to move out salary to re-sign restricted free agents Matthew Tkachuk and Andrew Mangiapane, and that it could be him on the move.

“I know something probably will happen,” said the Flames 31-year-old winger, who spent the summer in his native Czech Republic keeping a close eye on the rumour mill.

“I’m not sure if it’s going to be me or someone else. With Chucky (Tkachuk) and Mangy (RFA Andrew Mangiapane) unsigned we still need to do so something. Obviously it’s hard to not read about it. You know what’s going on. Even if you try not to read about it I kind of know the situation. I’ve been traded a few times so I know how it works. It goes pretty fast after that. We’ll see what is going to happen.”

Frolik has a year left on his deal at a $4.3 million salary cap hit. Last season he was part of trade involving the Minnesota Wild and Jason Zucker that fell through last minute.

Some UFAs looking for work

TSN: Looking at some of the top UFAs that are still looking for work.

Ben Hutton – Sitting on multiple offers which reportedly includes the Los Angeles Kings, New York Rangers, Detroit Red Wings and Minnesota Wild.

Brian Boyle – There has been interest, with possibly four or five teams needing to find the cap room.

Justin Williams – He left the door open to return, and it would only be with Hurricanes.

Dion Phaneuf – Was bought out by the LA Kings and looking for another shot.

Thomas Vanek – Not willing to sign a PTO just yet.

Adam McQuaid – Could take another three months for him to be properly healed. There is interest.
