NHL Rumors: Time For The Boston Bruins To Make Some Sort Of Move
Could it be time for the Boston Bruins to fire Claude Julien?
On the Boston Bruins …

Steve Conroy of the Boston Herald: Bruins GM Don Sweeney should be looking to make a trade with the future in mind. He has some young defensemen that should interest many teams. Sweeney should look to move one that would help the Bruins now and in the future.

Bruins defensive prospects include: Charlie McAvoy, Brandon Carlo, Matt Grzelcyk, Rob O’Gara, Jeremy Lauzon, Jakub Zboril and Ryan Lindgren.

Forward prospects include: Jake DeBrusk, Peter Cehlarik, Zach Senyshyn and Jakob Forsbacka-Karlsson.

Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: The Bruins could use some more scoring and size on the wing.

Colorado Avalanche winger Gabriel Landeskog meets those requirements for the Bruins and he’s believed to be available for the right price.

Adrian Dater said earlier this week at the Bruins weren’t interested in trading Brandon Carlo for Landeskog. The Bruins countered with a package involving Zboril.

Haggerty thinks it’s doubtful the Avs and Bruins make a deal due to the reluctance to include Carlo and Landeskog’s $5.5 million contact. The Bruins would have to move out other salary to make him fit.

The Bruins might have move out Torey Krug ($5.25 million) or David Krejci ($7.25 million) to fit Landeskog’s contract in.

Zboril, Ryan Spooner and a 2nd round pick won’t be enough to get Landeskog.

Joe Haggerty of CSNNE: The Bruins need to make some sort of move to get them going – be it a big trade or the firing of head coach Claude Julien.

Upper management – Don Sweeny and Cam Neely – have been quiet for a month. They need to do something to improve their team.

It may not be fair to fire Julien, but the Bruins are making same mistakes for the past two years. Some of that has to fall on the coach.
