On the Toronto Maple Leafs, Peter Holland and William Nylander …
Darren Dreger: Peter Holland’s agent Joe Resnick: “Peter and Lou met this weekend. At this time, it appears that Peter’s future with the club is limited and, Lou will do his best to trade him. Lou also stated that Peter not go on the road trip during this time frame.”
John Shannon: Peter Holland is not traveling with the Maple Leafs on their road trip was not his decision. The decision was made by Leafs management. It’s looking like his days with the Leafs are finished.
John Shannon: Talks in the past 72 hours between the Leafs, Holland and his agent point to the Leafs trying to trade Holland.
John Shannon: Given Holland’s playing time this year, you have to wonder why they signed him in the offseason.
Lance Hornby of the Toronto Sun: Holland’s agent Joe Resnick.
“Lou is going to try to move him,” Holland’s agent, Joe Resnick, told Postmedia shortly after Babcock’s post-morning skate, pre-Oilers game scrum with the media.
Coach Mike Babcock commented on Holland and that William Nylander didn’t play on Saturday due to an upper-body injury and not because pulled himself for unknown reason (was radio talk in Toronto that he did).
“(Holland) met with Lou (Lamoriello) had his agent (Joel Resnick) on the phone and decided he wasn’t coming on the trip,” Babcock said to open the scrum. “The other thing is it came to my attention that William — I don’t usually speculate on this stuff — chose to sit out the game. He had no choice, he was told by the trainers.”
Luke Fox of Sportnet: The 25-year old Holland has only played in eight games this season, recording only one assists while averaging 10:43 in ice time. The Leafs play three game this week – tonight, tomorrow and Saturday.
“We might have to go seven and 11 , but that’s life,” Babcock said.
