On the Vegas Golden Knights …

Shawn Roarke: GM George McPhee said the No. 6 pick Cody Glass was in their top 5. McPhee said that they had a trade in place to move up in the draft to select Glass if they needed.

SinBin.Vegas: (s/t Chris Johnston) The holdup on Marcus Kruger being traded to Vegas is the $2 million bonus that is due by the Blackhawks on July 1st. The trade will go through after that.

Nick Cotsonika: GM McPhee on if there are other trade in the works: “A few things going on, but that might not happen for a few days.”

On the Buffalo Sabres …

Mike Harrington: GM Jason Botterill said they had some trade talk about moving up from the No. 8 slot. They weren’t thinking about moving down in the draft. Casey Mittelstadt was an easy choice for them at No. 8.

David Pagnotta: The Sabres may be better off holding on to winger Evander Kane. Talk is the trade market for him isn’t really there and teams are not wanting to give up much for him. It does only take one team, so we’ll see where it goes.

John Vogl: GM Jason Botterill said that they could name an assistant GM in the next few days. A report saying that Randy Sexton could be the guy.

On the Tampa Bay Lightning …

Frank Seravalli: Lightning GM Steve Yzerman is still working on getting RFAs Tyler Johnson and Ondrej Palat signed: “I can’t tell you whether that will be today or next week.”

Bryan Burns: GM Yzerman on where he’s at with Johnson and Palat: “We’ll continue to talk and, again, I plan on getting them signed.”

Joe Smith: GM Yzerman isn’t sure how active they will be in the next week. The asking price for defensemen is high –  “Supply + demand.”
