“And the other one I’m kind of looking about right now, and we’re watching them play here on Saturday night, are the Jets. And the Jets fell to 32nd in the league this week. You know, they’ve been had all sorts of trouble scoring. They had the big league in Toronto, and they couldn’t hold on. That was a really tough loss.
But there’s no question in my mind right now, the Jets are out there looking for goals. What can they do to try to find goals and help their scoring situation?
NHL Rumors: Quick Hits from Around the NHL
You know, Ron, it’s kind of funny, two teams we have in our games tonight, Calgary, Nashville. They’ve been kind of some of the more popular teams that people have talked to about some of their players, but I don’t get the sense anything imminent with their guys right now.”
The Philadelphia Flyers are talking to a couple of their pending free agents, and are looking to add
Kevin Kurz of The Athletic: (mailbag) The Philadelphia Flyers would have liked next years free agent crop to be better, but their rebuilding plan wasn’t just based on the hope to be able to sign a top free agent. They’ve been building a base over the past few years to be franchise where players want to place. They’ll have to look at the trade market, and some of those players may have trade protection. The Flyers may require some to waive a no-trade clause.
Guessing that Trevor Zegras contract extension with the Flyers will be for around five years at a $9 million salary cap hit, passing Travis Konecny’s $8.75 million. Zegras has played well beside Christian Dvorak, who is also likely getting an extension.
NHL Rumors: Columbus Blue Jackets, and the Pittsburgh Penguins
The Flyers will likely be looking for a center, and was told earlier that it may just be for a fourth-line center. They’ll likely be looking to small depth move or two if they’re still in the playoff race at the deadline. They aren’t going to move higher-end assets for rentals.
