The Nashville Predators have traded defenseman P.K. Subban to the New Jersey Devils for Steven Santini, Jeremy Davies and two second-round draft picks – 2019 2nd round No. 34 and a 2020 2nd round.
The Predators are not retaining any salary.
The 30-year-old Subban was drafted 43rd overall in the 2nd round of the 2007 draft by the Montreal Canadiens. He carries a $9 million cap hit for the next three seasons.
The 24-year old Santini was drafted 42nd overall in the 2nd round of the 2013 draft by the New Jersey Devils. He carries a $1,416,666 cap hit.
The 22-year-old Davies was drafted 192nd in the 7th round of the 2016 draft by the New Jersey Devils. He carries a $925,000 cap hit.

Adam Vingan: “I’ve always said that Predators should consider trading P.K. Subban only if the return or resulting cap space makes them demonstrably better today. Even if they sign Matt Duchene with the savings, are they better? I’m not sure.”
