  • Mike Johnston of Sportsnet: Seven potential trade destinations for Evander Kane and potential trade chips.

    1. Penguins – Kasperi Kapanen, Nick Spaling, Beau Bennett, Blake Comeau, Scott Harrington2. Ducks – Matt Beleskey, Jakob Silfverberg, Devante Smith-Pelly, Nick Ritchie, Emerson Etem, Shea Theodore, Nick Sorensen, Nicolas Kerdiles

    3. Flyers – Brayden Schenn, Samuel Morin, Michael Del Zotto, Shayne Gostisbehere, Robert Hagg

    4. Bruins – Loui Eriksson, Brad Marchand, Alexander Khokhlachev, Seth Griffith, Ryan Spooner, Linus Arnesson, Anthony Camara

    5. Avalanche – Ryan O’Reilly, Chris Bigras, Nick Holden, Joey Hishon, Troy Bourke

  • Mark Spector of Sportsnet: The Jets will most likely move Evander Kane at the draft when more teams can be involved.

    The Oilers will trade Jeff Petry before the deadline, and the Penguins are interested. Viktor Fasth is available, and Spectors wonders if they’ll trade Derek Roy.

  • Dennis Bernstein: Alec Martinez’s injury last night may force Kings GM Dean Lombardi’s hand to make a deal. Hearing the Kings and Maple Leafs could be close on a deal.
  • David Pagnotta: Talks between the Maple Leafs and Kings have been “ongoing” and Leafs talks with the Lightning “have taken place.”
  • David Pagnotta: 10 teams scouting the Maple Leafs and Oilers: Flames (2), Lightning (2), Jets (2), Senators, Blues, Canadiens, Ducks, Avalanche, Sabres and Predators.
  • David Pagnotta: Leafs GM Dave Nonis is watching the Kings-Lightning game. Lightning assistant GM Pat Verbeek and a team scout are at the Leafs-Oilers game.
  • Mike Johnston of Sportsnet: The Jets could trade Evander Kane before the deadline for immediate help. Teams like the Sabres, Flyers and Senators who are out of the playoffs would be interested. The Leafs are no closer to signing pending UFAs Cody Franson, Mike Santorelli and Daniel Winnik. The Leafs could potentially trade Tyler Bozak at the deadline. Cox reporting that Nonis will remain as the Leafs GM through the trade deadline despite uncertainty of his future with the team.
