  • TSN Insider Trading:  LeBrun: Panthers Sean Bergenheim could be traded by Monday. He’s asked for a trade and GM Dale Tallon is trying. The Jets, Canucks and Canadiens have shown interest. The asking price is thought to be a third round pick. The Canucks don’t have a third round pick.Dreger: The Jets have depth on the blueline and could include in a deal with the Panthers (Bergenheim) or with the Leafs (Daniel Winnik). The Jets are now willing to trade Alex Burmistrov, who is a RFA that has been playing in the KHL. Some think he’s ready to return to the NHL.

McKenzie: Andrej Sekera is in the most demand right now. Things are heating up and he could be the next defenseman traded. The Kings, Rangers, Lightning and Penguins are among the teams. Everyone thinks Jeff Petry will go to free agency, but the Oilers have reached out to talk contract. Coyotes Zbynek Michalek is thought to have a concussion, but could be ready to return next week.

LeBrun: The Sabres would love to get Ryan O’Reilly. There will be long list of teams interested if the Avs make him available. The Sabres would be willing to include their other first round pick in an O’Reilly deal.

  • Kristen Odland of the Calgary Herald: Trade talk is inevitable for both buyers and sellers.

“For sure,” agreed Flames head coach Bob Hartley. “This is that time of the year for 30 teams. Especially players that are UFAs at the end of the season. For sure, it plays in their mind. But that’s why we’re pros. You have to be able to deal with what’s good for you and what’s bad for you. The best thing with this is that there’s games almost every two days.

“So, hey, put your focus on the game and let the other stuff play out.”

Flames pending UFAs: Curtis Glencross, Devin Setoguchi, Brian McGrattan, Corey Potter and Karri Ramo.

  • Dean Bolberg: The Flames asked Curtis Glencross for a list of team, and he may have asked to be traded. He may have played his last game with the Flames. Elliotte Friedman was on the show and said that his initial list of teams was small, but that he expanded it to get a deal done.
  • Bob McKenzie: Canadiens Alexei Emelin will be back before the playoffs, so there may not be any extra pressure on the Canadiens to make a trade. The Canadiens had been looking for a defenseman before Emelin was injured.
