- Tim Riday of CSN Philly: Looking at Flyers free agents who could be re-signed and those that may not be.Ryan White – the versatile depth forward should be re-signed. Good fit for their third or fourth line.
Chris VandeVelde – should be brought back for depth up front. Played for coach Dave Hakstol in college.
Michael Del Zotto – should be re-signed. He’ll get a qualifying offer from the Flyers.
Carlo Colaiacovo – Flyers don’t have room for him.
Ray Emery – the Flyers will look for a younger, cheaper backup.
Rob Zepp – a return to the AHL Phantom’s is a possibility.
- Dave Isaac of the Courier-Post: (answering twitter questions) Get the sense that the Flyers hope that Ivan Provorov drops to No. 7.They may also be high on Mikko Rantanen, as well as Dylan Strome and Mitch Marner. Lawson Crouse could be a wildcard.
Any of Nick Grossmann, Radko Gudas, Andrew MacDonald, Brandon Manning, Luke Schenn, Nick Schultz and Mark Streit could be available for the right price. Guessing that Grossmann and Schenn are the most likely to be traded, and could go for a draft pick between the third and fifth round.
Can’t see the Flyers signing any notable free agents, with exception to a backup goalie.
Contract talks between the Flyers and Michael Del Zotto aren’t happening just yet.
- Tom Dougherty and Tim Riday: Both think that Jhonas Enroth could be a good backup goalie option for the Flyers.
- Tom Dougherty and Tim Riday: Both think the price to sign winger Joel Ward will be too high for the Flyers.
