- Chris Stevenson: Coyotes GM Don Maloney on trade possibilities: “Where we’re at, we have to look at everybody and everything. There’s nobody that we wouldn’t talk about in a deal … The only player, obviously, Shane Doan is not going anywhere. Oliver Ekman-Larsson is a player that we would certainly be very, very reluctant to part with, but as far as I am concerned, when you’re sitting with our record, and we’re three or four worst records in the league, then everybody is up for grabs.”
- Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic: The Coyotes are looking to acquire young assets, and will likely move Antoine Vermette, Zbynek Michalek and Martin Erat. GM Don Maloney on Keith Yandle.
“We don’t have enough Keith Yandles,” Maloney said. “Now that’s not to say if a deal comes along in the next week or next month or trade deadline or the draft, but he’s still a relatively young player that does something better than most in the league and we need more of those players not less.”
Maloney plans on talking with pending RFA Mikkel Boedker about a long-term contract in the upcoming weeks.
- David Pagnotta: Coyotes Keith Yandle is likely going to be traded at the deadline or in the offseason. Someone would really have to overpay to get Oliver Ekman-Larsson. Unlikely, but you never know.
- Don Brennan: Senators GM Bryan Murray confirmed that he spoke with the Coyotes about Antoine Vermette, but it looks like that has past. Pierre LeBrun: Think the Sens-Coyotes spoke about a month ago.
- Ansar Khan: The Red Wings need to see what they have in defensman Alexey Marchenko before the March 2nd trade deadline.
- Aaron Portzline: The Blue Jackets must believe that they’d lose Jordan Leopold and/or Cody Goloubef on waivers. They’d make a trade, but don’t want to lose them for nothing.
- Tom Gulitti: Usual scouts at the Prudental Center in NJ: Jets, Coyotes, Ducks and Blackhawks.
