  • TSN Insider Trading: LeBrun: Andrej Sekera’s name has comes up the most when teams are looking for a defenseman. Jeff Petry is getting more interest after the Franson trade as he’s right-handed. The Penguins, Bruins, Canadiens, Lightning, Red Wings and Ducks are looking to improve their blueline.Dreger: Though it’s possible the Leafs trade Dion Phaneuf at the deadline, it’s unlikely due to his contract. Teams are calling, but there have been no offers yet. He has submitted a list of 10 teams that he would accept a trade too.

Dreger: There has been tire kicking on Phil Kessel. He has a list of eight teams in which he can be traded too.

LeBrun: Teams are calling the Leafs about Daniel Winnik. The Jets tried to sign him in the summer. The Penguins are also still interested. GM Dave Nonis can drag this out a bit, building a bigger market for Winnik.

Dreger: Jaromir Jagr wants to play in the playoffs and is getting interest from both conferences. He’d prefer to stay in the East, but would go to the West.

Dreger: The Rangers are having tough ongoing contract extension talks with Mats Zuccarello’s agency. They want to keep him and he won’t be trading him.

LeBrun: Contract talks between the Predators and Mike Fisher will start in the next couple days.

  • The Fourth Period: The Devils are actively shopping Jaromir Jagr, Michael Ryder and Bryce Salvador. Jagr and Ryder have been getting plenty of interest.
  • The Fourth Period: The Jets are looking to add a top-nine forward, and their search may pick up as Mathieu Perreault and Drew Stafford left last night’s game. The extent of their injuries isn’t known yet. The Jets have shown interest in Daniel Winnik and Chris Neil.
  • Jim Matheson: The Blues and Blackhawks are now on the clock after the Predators added Cody Franson and Mike Santorelli.
  • Jim Matheson: The Blackhawks are interested in Antoine Vermette and another veteran defenseman. The Blues are looking for a third pairing defenseman.
  • Damien Cox: With the uncertainty surrounding Slava Voynov, the Kings know they may need to add a defenseman. Cox wonders when they will make a move.
  • Dennis Bernstein: Non-regular scouts watching Kings-Lightning: Oilers, Maple Leafs, Panthers, Wild, Flames and Red Wings.
  • Bruce Garrioch: Scouting the Senators-Hurricanes: Lightning, Red Wings, Rangers, Flames, Stars (2) and Bruins. Most scouts came to watch Hurricanes Andrej Sekera, Tim Gleason, Jiri Tlusty and Jay McClement.
