Players that fit into that category include: Mikkel Boedker (talks to start soon), Jaromir Jagr, Marcus Johansson, Torey Krug, Petr Mrazek, Anders Nilsson and Cam Talbot.Blackhawks Marcus Kruger can also get an extension. There was a lot of talk that they worked on an extension when they were working on his current one-year deal.Eric Engels reported that the Predators where a team that looked at acquiring Zack Kassian before he was traded to the Oilers.

Friedman wonders what the Rangers could get for Dominic Moore or Keith Yandle if they are out of the playoffs and decide to move them. If the Rangers really want to make a big move, they could see what the trade market is for Rick Nash. Nash does have no-trade protection.
