  • Chad Graff of the Pioneer Press: Things are quiet with the Wild.

“We’re relatively quiet,” Fletcher insisted. “I don’t know that we have a bunch going right now nor are we really trying to have much going on. From talking to other general managers, there certainly appear to be some things in play, so tomorrow should be a pretty interesting day.”

GM Chuck Fletcher hopes to meet with Mikael Granlund’s agent today. Sides are getting closer.

“I don’t think we’re very far apart,” Fletcher said.

Chad Graff of the Pioneer Press: The Wild and Devan Dubnyk had some “productive” talks, but nothing official yet. GM Fletcher might start putting plan B into action today just in case. Fletcher and Dubnyk’s agent, Mike Luit, will meet again this morning. If there is little progress, the Wild could start talks involving Cam Talbot, Robin Lehner and Martin Jones.

“Obviously, if teams are trading goalies, Friday or Saturday (are the likely days),” Fletcher said. “So that may force some things to happen Friday or Saturday for some teams in the league. Obviously, something could come up quickly. I think (Dubnyk’s camp is) aware of that.”

Fletcher did say that talks with Dubnyk’s camp have been encouraging.

“At this point, we’re operating in good faith and negotiating in good faith to try to get a deal done,” Fletcher said. “I think I have a pretty good feeling for what they’re trying to accomplish, and I hope they know what we’re trying to accomplish. (Thursday) was really productive. I was happy with the meeting, and we’ll just continue to throw ideas around.”

  • Adam Vingan of the Tennessean: There is nothing new to report with regards to the Predators and Mike Ribeiro contact talks according to Ribeiro’s agent Don Meehan.
  • Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News: The rumors that the Stars are interested in Patrick Sharp, but that may not be the case.

“He’s a great player, but he’s not what we need right now,” said a Stars official who asked to be listed as a source. “It’s that simple.”

The Stars are looking for a goalie and are in talks about several who might be traded, including Cam Talbot.

The Stars are also looking at the trade market for a defenseman and could possibly be looking for an additional forward.
