The San Jose Sharks have traded forward James Sheppard to the New York Rangers for a 2016 4th round pick.
Pierre LeBrun: The Sharks will retain $100,000 of Sheppard’s salary.
The 26-year old Sheppard was drafted 9th overall in the 2006 draft by the Wild. He carries a $1.3 million cap hit.
Andrew Gross: “James Shepard, 26, a left-shooting C, was ninth overall pick of the 2006 draft by the Wild. Five goals, 11 assists for Sharks this season.”
