- EJ Hradek via twitter: Hradek now thinks Richards will now go to the highest bidder, are thinking all season that he’d stay in Dallas. Hradek adds that he thinks the Kings will be in on Richards ‘big time.’
- Matthew Barnaby via twitter: With the new ownership taking over in Buffalo today, Barnaby would be surprised if they weren’t buyers.
- Darren Dreger via twitter: The Leafs have made some trade offers for defensemen, no names, and nothing close.
- Bob McKenzie via twitter: McKenzie doesn’t think the Maple Leafs would be interested in Paul Stastny, but John-Michael Liles is the type of player they are interested in, nothing close though. Adrian Dater via twitter: Howard Berger on the radio saying Liles might be in play in Toronto. Raihan Hussain via twitter: Doug MacLean is reporting the Maple Leafs contacted the Avalanche about Liles, but the asking price is too high.
- Minnesota Wild: Wild center Mikko Koivu has a broken finger and is expected back before the end of the season.
- Sean Fitz-Gerald via twitter: Brian Burke on Clarke MacArthur, “we’re in the process of trying to sign him to a contract extension.” James Mirtle adds that he could be moved if they don’t get an extension done.
