Western Conference Injury Updates

Elliotte Friedman: Statement from Calgary Flames GM Brad Treliving on defenseman T.J. Brodie.

“TJ has been working out for the past several days and today skated on his own under the supervision of our medical staff. Over this past week he has had consultations with appropriate specialists in Calgary. To date all medical evaluations and testing have been reassuring. We still work to complete final testing and are optimistic he will re-join the team in the near future. TJ has been placed on injury reserve retroactive to November 14th.”

Ryan S. Clark: Colorado Avalanche forward Gabriel Landeskog will meet with doctors this week. He hasn’t resumed skated yet.

Forward Mikko Rantanen continues to skate. He might be able to rejoin the team soon.

Jason Gregor: Edmonton Oilers defenseman Matt Benning will likely be out for two or three games.

Defenseman Adam Larsson returned to the lineup.

Michael Russo: Minnesota Wild coach Bruce Boudreau hinted that defenseman Greg Pateryn, who has been out after sports hernia surgery, could accept a conditioning stint in the AHL before returning to the Wild’s lineup.

“He’s not making this trip, but I’ve gotta believe that by next week that something will be happening as far as playing.”

Michael Russo: Goaltender Devan Dubnyk won’t travel with the team at the start of their road trip for family reasons.

Kevin Kurz: San Jose Sharks forward Melker Karlsson was hurt from a Ryan Reaves hit. Sharks defenseman Radim Simek suffered a lower-body injury.

Kevin Kurz: Sharks defenseman Tomas Hertl missed last night’s game. Coach Pete DeBoer said that it is not a knee injury and that it is “not serious.”
