  • TSN: Placed on waivers yesterday (Mon. 26th at noon is deadline for claiming): Stefan Chaput (Bos) Nathan McIver (Bos) Jamie Tardif (Bos) Ales Kotalik (Buf) David Leggio (Buf), Shaone Morrisonn (Buf), Derek Whitmore (Buf), Brett Bellemore (Car), Nicolas Blanchard (Car), Justin Soryal (Car), Cristobal Huet (Chi), Brandon Segal (Chi), Evan Brophey (Col), David Liffiton (Col), Greg Mauldin (Col), David Van Der Gulik (Col), Maxime Fortunus (Dal), Eric Godard (Dal), Brad Lukowich (Dal), Travis Morin (Dal), Raymond Sawada (Dal), Dan Spang (Dal), Francis Wathier (Dal), Mark Cullen (Fla), Bracken Kearns (Fla), Tyson Strachan (Fla), Nolan Yonkman (Fla), Wade Redden (NYR), Pavel Valentenko (NYR), Jason Bacashihua (Phi), Johan Backlund (Phi), Dan Jancevski (Phi), Jon Kalinski (Phi), Stefan Legein (Phi), Matt Beaudoin (Pho), Alexandre Bolduc (Pho), Garrett Stafford (Pho), Francois Bouchard (Was), Kyle Greentree (Was), and Zach Miskovic (Was).
  • Kevin McGran of the Toronto Star: Maple Leafs forward Matthew Lombardi has been cleared for full contact. “I still hope Matthew Lombardi will be ready for the opening game,” said Wilson. “I don’t know about that, or if I can get him into an exhibition game.” Wilson added that he can play center and probably left wing.
  • Aaron Portzline of the Columbus Dispatch: James Wisniewski has been suspended indefinitely pending a Monday phone hearing.
  • Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: Oilers forward Sam Gagner blocked a shot with his left ankle, then crashed into the boards. He was limping after the game and is listed as day-to-day.
  • Jim Matheson of the Edmonton Journal: Without Ryan Whitney, the Oilers may need to add a puck moving defenseman. “There are too many Oiler defenceman into the double-clutch mode, not willing to risk a headman pass even if the worst thing that happens is an icing and a face-off in their end.” Bryan McCabe and Chris Campoli could be options, for now they will stick with what they have.
  • Eric Stephens via twitter: With Toni Lydman and Kurtis Forster hurt, Stephens wonders if Duck GM Bob Murray will look for help along the blueline.
  • Larry Brooks of the NY Post: The Rangers cut their camp roster down to 35 yesterday. 21 forwards, 11 defenseman and 3 goalies remain in camp. 2 more forwards will be cut before they depart for Europe.
  • Bob Mitchell of the Toronto Star: The Leafs will carry 3 extra players to start the season. If they go with 2 extra defenseman, the 1 extra forward would be one of Philippe Dupuis, Joey Crabb, Colton Orr, Jay Rosehill and Darryl Boyce.
  • Tim Panaccio of CSN Philly: The Flyers cut more players yesterday dropping their camp number to 38.
  • Adrian Dater of the Denver Post: The Avalanche cut 6 players yesterday dropping their camp number to 34. Among the cuts was 2011 1st round pick Duncan Siemens, who’ll be heading back to junior.
