TSN Radio Vancouver: The Canucks did not make an actual offer to Dan Hamhuis.

Matthew Sekeres: Trevor Linden said that acquisition of Erik Gudbranson and the Canucks desire to get younger meant that there wasn’t room for Hamhuis.

Chris Nichols of Today’s Slapshot: Canucks president Trevor Linden on TSN 1040 on their efforts to acquire another winger would likely come from a trade over a free agent

“Yeah, it was more on the trade front. We were kind of down that path as far as trying to put something together kind of over July 1. Didn’t really come together. That’s not saying something won’t happen down the road, but right now we’re just kind of in a holding pattern and see how things shake out.”

Linden on the suggestion of their first round pick Olli Juolevi’s agent that playing in Europe next season could be an option.

“We talked to his agent at the draft, and there was no mention of that. Our intention would be to sign Olli this summer, and get him under contract. So that would be new to us. We haven’t heard that from our end.”

News 1130 Sports: Juolevi can’t playing the AHL next season. It will be either the NHL, OHL or in Europe.

TSN Radio Vancouver: Linden on Tyson Barrie: “We can’t have conversations about other team’s players, is that correct? Are you trying to get me in trouble?”
